LISTENER HELP PAGE
To listen in, usually just clicking on the Tune in link at the top of the page will open up your default mp3 player and tune in with no problems. If you do have problems read through the rest of this page for help, hints and tips. We hope you manage to tune in real soon!
I am unable to listen, why?
All our external links open in your favorite external player, while the player on the chat page is flash, it needs flash installed.
The stream seems to be skipping (Buffering) Is it my connection or your stream?
All our shows are broadcast at 96kbps. In order to listen to our shows with no buffering, you must have a broadband connection (A/DSL / Cable / T1). If you connect to the internet via a Dial-Up modem, the stream will buffer for you, as your download speed can not keep up with the rate at which the broadcast is being streamed to you.
If you are connected to the internet via broadband are still experiencing this problem, the problem may lie with the DJ currently broadcasting. They might be experiencing connection or related issues. Please inform the DJ on air via the chatroom so that the problem can be corrected by them ASAP. (Usually a member of our management team will have picked up the problem by the time you have read this).
How do I register my name in the Chatroom?
If you're not familiar with IRC-based chats, you may not be aware that some IRC networks allow you to register your own nickname, which prevents other people from using it when you're not logged on.
The nickname registration process is painless and only takes a minute, so we encourage you all to do so. Some of the benefits include:
- Ability to prevent others from using your nickname;
- Ability to recover your nickname if you're disconnected but your "ghost" is still online with your nick;
- Once you have a registered nickname, you can register a channel with ChanServ.
How to do it:
1) Make sure you're already logged in using the nickname you would like to register
2) Click on the first tab (labelled irc.livfe4vibez.co.uk);
2) Type: /msg nickserv register YOURPASSWORD YOUREMAIL
(Example: /msg nickserv register thisismypassword blah@live4vibez.co.uk)
3) That's it! Use: /msg nickserv help register when you're in the chatroom for more information.
4) You can now use the password the next time you log in .
A useful command:
- Say you've just been disconnected and you reconnect and your "ghost" is still there using your nickname. Just type: /msg NickServ GHOST nickname password
For example: /msg nickserv ghost djpedster mypassword
